NASCAR wants your best helmet design

Hello, I’m NASCAR Camping World Truck
Series driver, Ben Kennedy. And I drive the number eleven Tundra for
Local Motors, a company that likes to shake things up as much as I do. It’s okay if you don’t recognize me though, Normally, I’m wearing a helmet. And when you’re trading paint at 190 miles per hour helets are very important. But I’d like to
spice things up a little bit for my next lid, And that’s where you guys come in.
Introducing the Ben Kennedy Number 11 Local Motors Helmet Design Challenge. I want to reach out to the Local Motors co-creating community to design my next
racing helmet. That’s right! The winner of the challenge will get to see their own
design flying around the track during the May 15
Charlotte race. It’s a wide-open challenge. All I ask is
that you design something that’s fitting for me our partners and our sport. And of course it should look really good going fast. Like I do. The winning design will be executed by
none other than Dave Smith, artist and owner of Phoenix Design. His work is amazing and known across the racing world He’l make your design scream with his craftsmanship. But there’s more for the winner than just bragging rights. First place will
take home 1,111 dollars. A replica helmet of the winning design,
signed by me and a spot for their own signature on the actual number eleven Local Motors truck. Second place doesn’t go home empty-handed either. The runner-up designer will receive $711
dollars a pair of signed racing gloves. And a few other goodies. Finish third on the podium? You’ll still take home $511 dollars and a signed polo and hat. Community voting will determine the top
five designs. And an expert panel including me will
determine the finishing order. More details can be found in the design
brief. And you shouldn’t start your engines before reading it. But when you’re ready to design an
awesome helmet for me Strap in. Buckle up. Go full-throttle. I hope to see you in victory lane.
