Overland Overnight at Lake Placid

OK its two o’clock in the afternoon. I’ve been driving since about six o’clock this morning. I did make a little mistake this morning. I got about twenty minutes away on the turnpike and realized that I didn’t bring my laptop. And I really need that for work tomorrow and today. So uh, I turned around and went back and got that. I got back on the road about seven o’clock. And then I’ve just been, like, pulling over to answer emails and texts about work stuff. So, I’ve been delayed quite a bit. It’s been an all day drive so far. I’m going to get to Lake Placid at about 3:30. It’s sunny. The leaves are gorgeous. And it’s been a nice drive and it’s only going to get better. OK, it’s 2:30 and here I am at Lake George. I’ve never been here before. It’s about twenty miles north of Albany and it’s really pretty. Just look at the scenery here. I still have… ohhh, another hour or so to go until I get up to Lake Placid, and that’s where I’ll camp tonight. I’ve got some Parmigiana. I’ve got some Ragu sauce. It’s not homemade, it’s just Ragu. What happened to that thing?! It got squished! Oh boy. Yeah… that’s squished pretty good. I’m going to have some dense white bread! I love this knife. This is a Zero Tolerance knife that my little brother got me. My little brother. The Marine. Just got out of the Marines. After, I think, eight years. Awesome guy. So proud of him. I’m hungry. Well. I have a regular blanket and I have two wool blankets. I also have my negative twenty degree bag with me which I think I’m going to use because it is FREEZING out. It’s 38 degrees. My feet are frozen. Good morning. It’s Day Two. I stayed at the KOA Campground in Lake Placid. I stayed here a month ago. Last night I had some spaghetti. Made some spaghetti. Some bread & butter. Sat around the campfire. It got really cold. Went to bed about nine thirty. After I spent a while taking pictures of the jeep at night. Some long exposures. Playing with some light. Fun stuff. It was 38 degrees when I went to bed last night and in the middle of the night I got up to pee. I could see my breath. It was just so cold. But, I was very warm. I have a negative twenty degree bag and so it really kept me warm. Let me show you the view where I am right now. It’s not as spectacular as what I’ve been seeing but it’s pretty amazing. Bacon! OK, it’s now uh.. about two thirty in the afternoon and the weather has gotten pretty bad. I’m going to continue driving south, out of the Adirondacks, down to Oneida, NY. That area. And stay with my folks tonight. Catch up with them and visit with them. But thanks for watching. We’ll see you next time! Good morning. It’s six o’clock on a Tuesday. October 13th. It’s not! Is it? … 11th… 12th… It’s October 14th. Good morning! Good morning! Good morning! It’s a Tuesday morning. … happens to be at the north uh… … Oh my God.
